Good bye Taiko

Tai had a really bad night, lots of vomiting. So today we made the horrible decision to put him down. I miss him already. Nothing was better than coming home and having Taiko greet you at the door, he would howl and carry on like it was the greatest thing in the world. He loved it when I would lay on the living room floor, he would stand over me and plop down on my belly insisting on a back rub. He was a great dog and I miss him already. Life will be a little less bright withou Taiko in it.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Just remember to cherish the memories - they never go away, and they're just as valuable.

Best wishes.

I am very sorry to hear that Monica, but you did all you could do for him. I unfortuanetly know the feeling of having to make that decision. You continue to be in my thoughts.

I'm sorry for your loss, I love my little Lexi pie the same way. Like the poem/prayer said, we couldn't do anything more for him on earth so he has gone on to a better place. Try your hardest to focus on the things he brought to your life instead of the things you are without now. I think he would want it that way.

Oh Monica! I am oh heck all seriously choked up and scratch that not choked up but just plain old in tears - I don't know what to say. I know that feeling, the animal-as-child feeling and I know you gosh did absolutely everything for him and I know he knows that you did.

I need to go get my cat and smother her with kisses.

How's mushi? Is he okay? When my ex-fiance's cat died Cinderella went through a pretty rough patch - really sullen and quiet and still. For about 2 weeks then poof it was like nothing ever happened (though she never went back into the bathroom where my ex's cat died). Anyway, love to you and Gary and Mushi. Comfort one another!

Gee Monica...I have so many tears for you, Gary & Mr. Mushi. They fall right now down onto the key board knowing the love & joy you shared w/ Tai...and knowing how much I love Nellie, and yes Marlo. Who else is going make farting so funny in the Nowac household...besides Gary?? Hold onto all of your memories!

So, so sorry.

I've been annoyed with my pooches' antics today, so you've definitely reminded me to rethink my bad attitude.

How's your other pup doing?

I am so sorry to hear about Tai, Monica. I know from experience that there will be an empty place in your heart for a long time.
