I ran! Outside! Can you believe it.
I worked out! 2 days in a row! It’s been forever since I worked out. I was down with the stomach flu, then I have nauseating heartburn that didn’t motivate me much, then I had family here and a baby shower and we were working on the nursery most nights after work. It’s been a rough few weeks. Tuesday night I did a in home weights workout while I caught up on some DVR’d shows. I did a lot of lunges and squats and I’m still feeling them today! Yesterday I covered 3 miles in the wonderful 50 degree weather. Gary and I walked the dogs for 1.5 miles of it, then I ran/walked the other 1.5. No big deal, but it has been awhile since I ran at all. It was more of a shuffle, but at least the movement still makes sense to my body. I must say running really isn’t very comfortable to me at all, but I hope to be able to run/walk when the days are nicer out. I hope we start seeing more of these 40-50 degree days. I am so sick of winter and so sick of hibernating. My body is slowing down big time though. It’s much more of an effort just to go up the stairs or walk around. The baby is getting big and wreaking havoc on my digestive system and it takes a lot of work to breath now! It’s the final countdown. I am not officially 8 months pregnant. Crazy.

NYC marathon
I totally entered the lottery for the NYC marathon this morning. Why? B/c I would love to run it someday. After 4 lotteries, they have to let you in. My luck I will get in this year and be on the hook to run a marathon right after the baby. If that's the case I won't have any time expectations, hopes or dreams. I am probably the only one out there hoping I don't get in, lol. I want in sometime in the next few yearss!

Not much to say
Hi Bloggy friends, hope you are doing well. I am having a hard time keeping this blog going since I do so little working out these days :) I came down with the stomach flu last week and am just now feeling better. I keep a baby blog too and do most of my writing over there nowadays and facebook is sucking up my life. Once this baby is out though, I will combine the two and redo the look of my page and hopefully be able to write something semi interesting about getting back in shape! I am 31 weeks now. The nursery is almost done. The baby is moving around in my belly like crazy. Good times. Aside from being sick this past week, I feel pretty good. I am definitely more tired and my get up and go must have got up and went. It’s hard to get myself to want to do anything after work, but I try and accomplish at least one thing a night. I know my body is forcing me to slow down, it’s just hard not to compare yourself to others and what they were able to do at this stage. This weekend is my first baby shower, I can’t wait.

Heat Wave
Hey there Bloggy Friends are you getting out there and working out during this heat wave! I did a shit ton of housework on Sunday, hit the gym Monday night for cardio (did a bit of run/walking around the track and the arc trainer), last night Gary and I walked the dog 2 miles, then I walked another mile solo. It was sooo nice to be outside for an extended amount of time. Granted I had to constantly avoid puddles and not slip on some ice patches, but ahhh it was warm. The dogs didn’t know what to do with themselves, 2 miles wore them out thoroughly, so sad. They’ve been getting half a block walks all winter it’s been so hard to maneuver the sidewalks for so long.
I am 30 weeks pregnant today, only 10 weeks to go! Eiyiyi. We are starting on our nursery this weekend and hope to have the painting completed by next weekend. So, then I can work on organizing all the baby stuff! I have my first shower on Feb 22. I can’t wait.

Itchy
This warm weather is making me itchy. It's making me itch to go out for a long run or head to excel in cycling for a 2 hour cycling class. But alas I can't. I have th energy or a snail and the body of an elephant right now. I know it's all for the best, but it still is really frustrating some days to not be able to do what you want. I am going to have a long road ahead of me in June to build my body back up to where it should be. I don't look forward to that, but crave it at the same time. I'm sure it'll be very depressing to see how far my fitness has declined, but at the same time I know I can get back to where I was, or maybe even better. But I worry that sleep deprivation with a newborn will get the best of me. I hope not. I hope I am able to be one of those moms out at the towpath chugging out the miles with the baby in the stroller. But I haven't been one of those pregnant women still working out everyday, so I worry. I can blame is all on the weather, I can blame is all on the pregnancy, but I know I could have been more active these past 30 weeks. But it is what it is. In 10 weeks or less I will have a wonderful new person to take care of. And hopefully this wonderful new person will take very well to her stroller and swing and gym daycare so momma can loose this baby weight!

What a day
What a day! I am exhausted. I would have loved to sleep in today, but Fonzie had other ideas. So, he kept waking me up. I eventually got out of bed at 8:30. I took a walk. Then waited awhile and got back in bed with Gary and the dogs. The we walked the dogs. From there I headed to the gym for Iron Pump class. It was crazy packed and really hot in the studio, but I really enjoyed the class. You use a weighted bar and the instructor walks you through things like curls, overhead presses, clean n jerks, squats, lunges, chest presses, dead lifts, etc. The only thing I had to modify was all the ab work. You can do situps when you are pregnant, but at nearly 30 weeks they are comfortable for me, so I just did weighted twists while they did abs, it was fine. I haven't been lifting much, so I am sure I will be horribly sore tomorrow. But I think this is class that I can keep up for sure until baby day. Tomorrow I will do some cardio.
Once I got back from gym, it was really time to get to work. Gary and I busted our butts and moved furniture from upstairs guest room to the new downstairs guest room. We had lots of vacuuming and dusting to do and rearranging and organizing, etc. It was a lot of work, but now we have our guest room done and I couldn't be more pleased. I did a ton of laundry and other tidying up. I am worn out and my back is killing me. Now that the guest room is done, we get to start on the nursery! It has to be painted, hopefully that will get done over the next week or so. I hope to have it mostly done by Feb 22 when I will have family in town for a baby shower. Here's a 29 week belly shot.

Good workout weekend
I had a very good weekend of workouts! On Sat I tried a prenatal class at Atma yoga by my house. It was a lot less strenous than I am used to, but was very relaxing and allowed me to focus on all the various part of my body and try to unstress them, which I would never do without someone making me. I think I will try to keep going back up until the pregnancy despite the extra moolah b/c it's nice to be in a room of people in the same situation. I hope to make some friends out of the class b/c I know very few people with infants. In fact I only have 4 people I consider friends (like enough to exchange babysitting, etc) who have kids. 2 have kids under a year and the other 2 have 2 kids each over a year. So, it would be nice to have poeple close by with infants I think. I didn't feel lilke that was enough of a workout, so I headed to the gym and ran 3 miles on the track. It wasn't very comfortable, running while pregnant is just not working out for me like it does for some. I am okay with it. I will keep trying to get some short runs in, I'm going to have to start over when this baby is out either way.
This morning I decided to try an EveryBodies Bootcamp at Urban Active. Since it said all levels welcome I thought it'd be pretty easy. It was hella tough! I had to modified a lot of things like the mountain climbers and bear crawling, but stuck in for the lunges, squats, sprints, skipping around the track, shuffling around the track, jumping over the step gaunlet etc. I think I will keep going back, although I need to make sure it's okay to be hopping around for the baby. I figure it is b/c running is okay and that certainly would jar the baby around. Afterwards I cleaned my house from top to bottom. I had every intention of running outside in this marvelous freak weather, but was unfortunately just way too tired. Now is not the time to try and get back to 2 a days! 12 weeks to go!
